Rugkey (“Rugkey,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates https://rugkey.com and sells hand-tufted rugs online. We operate from India and sell to customers in the United States. Our store is powered by Shopify.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit the site, create an account, contact us, or place an order.
By using the site or placing an order, you acknowledge this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

We collect personal information:

- from service providers acting for us (Shopify, payment processors, shipping carriers, email tools).

- process and fulfil orders, including manufacturing made-to-order rugs and shipping from India to the United States;
- calculate shipping charges, provide tracking, and handle cancellations, damage claims, and refunds under our policies;
- provide customer support and respond to enquiries;
- operate, secure, and improve the website and checkout;
- prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised transactions;
- send order-related messages (confirmation, production updates, shipping notices);

- comply with law, enforce our Terms, Shipping Policy, and Returns and Refund Policy, and protect our rights.
5. How we share personal information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may disclose personal information to:
- Shopify, which hosts the store and processes store data;
- payment processors to take payment;
- shipping and logistics partners to deliver orders from India to US addresses;
- IT, email, analytics, and customer-support providers who process data on our instructions;
- professional advisers or authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety;
- a buyer or successor if we transfer business assets, subject to this Policy or equivalent protection.
Marketing and advertising partners may receive limited data to measure or show ads, including through Shopify’s tools. Where required by US state law, you may opt out of “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising via our Your Privacy Choices page or by emailing support@rugkey.com.
6. Shopify
Our store runs on Shopify. Information you provide at checkout or while browsing is processed by Shopify and may be transferred to and stored in countries where Shopify or its subprocessors operate. 7. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our providers use cookies, pixels, and similar tools to run the site, keep you signed in, remember cart contents, measure traffic, and support advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may limit site features.
8. International transfers
We are based in India and serve US customers. Personal information may be processed in India, the United States, and other countries where Shopify and our providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your home state.
9. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above: order and tax records, dispute handling, legal compliance, and security. Retention periods vary by record type. When information is no longer required, we delete or de-identify it where practicable.

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to a Shopify-hosted store. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Use a strong unique password if you create an account, and do not send payment card numbers by email.
11. Children’s privacy
The site is not directed to children under 13 (or the age of majority where higher). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child provided information, contact support@rugkey.com and we will delete it where required.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights.
Marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. You will still receive transactional messages about orders you place.
13. Third-party sites
Our site may link to third-party websites. Their privacy practices are their own. Review their policies before providing information to them.
14. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will change when we post a revision. Continued use of the site after a update means you accept the revised Policy where permitted by law.
